Biography

After many regional successes, Tenor Nicholas Nestorak is building a professional career in vocal performance. A native of Michigan, Nestorak’s career has flourished not only in the Midwest but across the United States and internationally with regional opera company performances and vocal competitions. Following residencies at apprentice programs such as Palm Beach Opera, The Glimmerglass Festival, and Wolf Trap Opera, Nestorak has continued to build his craft performing lead roles with opera companies such as Austin Opera, Opera Roanoke, Opera Carolina, Toledo Opera, Cedar Rapids Opera Theatre, Skylight Music Theatre, and Opera Grand Rapids. In addition to performing in classical traditional operas, Nestorak has passion for new compositions. This past season held multiple covers at The Metropolitan Opera and a debut at The Princeton Festival, along with a return to Music off Main and Opera Grand Rapids. The 2022-2023 season holds a company debut at Opera San Antonio, and a return to The Metropolitan Opera. A former student of tenor George Shirley, Nestorak holds a MM from the University of Michigan (Voice), and a BA from Hillsdale College (Voice & Cello).
